What is the Apostles Build?

Partnership of 12 churches who join together to financially sponsor and build a house for a local family.

Who participates in the Apostles Build?

Pikes Peak Habitat is currently inviting churches of various denominations to join in the Apostles Build. If you know of interested churches, please invite them to join or contact the Habitat office.

What is expected of my church?

Cost of sponsorship is $5,000 per church

                Labor/12 = 5 people/shift per church working 5-6 Saturdays from 8:30am – 4:30pm (a.m. shift 8:30am to noon, p.m. shift 1pm to 4:30pm)

Each church provides liaisons to help coordinate and communicate with PPHFH

What is expected of Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity?

Select a qualified family committed to partnering with the program

Provide land, architecture plans, construction supervisor and materials

Assist with volunteer coordination and fundraising efforts when requested

Clearly communicate expectations to all partner churches

Where will the Apostles Build take place?

Woodmen Vistas, PPHFH newest and largest development to date – 36 homes near Woodmen and Powers.

How is the homeowner chosen?

Habitat has a fair and unbiased family selection process and chooses families based on three criteria: need for affordable housing, ability to pay their no-interest mortgage, and willingness to partner with Habitat.

Why should my church participate in the Apostles Build?

Provides churches a concrete opportunity to put their faith in action with a project that has a tangible beginning and obtainable end

Allows broader community to see what can be accomplished when churches come together irrespective of race, creed, national origin, or denomination

Offers people of racial, ethnic, cultural, and religious diversity comfortable ways to exchange ideas, talents, and skills while sharing God’s love

Provides an activity that makes a difference not only in the lives of homeowner partners, but in the lives of donors and volunteers

When will we get started?

Construction is tentatively scheduled for March 2011 and builds usually last 5-7 months depending on weather and the number of volunteers.
