How to Receive a 25% State Tax Credit!

Dec 11, 2025

You Are Eligible to Receive a Colorado State Income Tax Credit

The Enterprise Zone Contribution Tax Credit provides tax credits to Colorado taxpayers who contribute to Enterprise Zone (EZ) projects. Through 2026, Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity has two EZ projects — The Ridge at Sand Creek, and Micah’s View & Jacob’s Run. You can read more about these two projects below. Donors can claim state income tax credits for donations to either project: 25% for monetary donations and 12.5% for in-kind donations. These tax credits are capped at $100,000 per taxpayer per tax year, but the remaining credits can carry forward up to five years.

How to Make a Monetary Contribution for a 25% Tax Credit

  1. Make your check (must be $250 or more to qualify) payable to “Pikes Peak Enterprise Zone”. Write “PPHFH” in the memo line.
  2. Indicate which EZ project you’d like your donation to support. If there is no indication, the donation will be used where it’s needed most.
  3. If this is your first EZ donation, provide either the last four digits of your social security number or your full business EIN.
  4. Mail your check to Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity at 3730 Sinton Rd., #100 Colorado Springs, CO 80907. Checks must be postmarked 12/31/25 or before in order to receive the 2025 tax credit!

If you’d rather give online, donate here (must be $250 or more to qualify!). After making your donation, email Emma.Price@PikesPeakHabitat.org and let her know which project you’d like your donation to support. If this is your first time making an EZ donation, provide her with the last four digits of your social security number or your full business EIN. Be sure to make your donation on or before 12/31/25 in order to receive the 2025 tax credit!

After we receive your donation Pikes Peak Habitat staff will process your donation with the EZ Administrator. The EZ Administrator will issue and mail a “Certification of Qualified Enterprise Zone Contribution” (DR0075) form to you. This may take 4-6 weeks from the date of your donation. Use this form to file your taxes for the state income tax credit.

If you have questions about how to make a qualifying contribution, or would like to make an in-kind contribution, contact Emma Price, Donor Relations Manager, at Emma.Price@PikesPeakHabitat.org or 719-723-1537.

The Two Qualifying Pikes Peak Habitat EZ Projects

Both of the Pikes Peak Habitat EZ Projects are home-building projects for families whose income is 40-80% of the area median income and who could not otherwise qualify for a traditional mortgage. With an affordable Habitat mortgage, homeowners pay no more than 30% of their income. This leads to better financial stability and greater self-sufficiency. Donors can make contributions to either project or may indicate for their donation to go where it’s needed most.

The Ridge at Sand Creek: Donations to this EZ project will fund new workforce housing construction costs on our 30-lot property inside The Ridge at Sand Creek, a 4.4-acre subdivision with 90 total lots located in Colorado Springs. The developed land of these 30 lots was donated by Love in Action, a Colorado nonprofit corporation. Pikes Peak Habitat will build at least five houses per year on these lots. By building Habitat homes here, we will create a mixed-income neighborhood. Current builds include the 2026 Interfaith Build for Unity and the George Hammond Build. Recently completed builds include the 6th Veterans Build and the 2025 Apostles Build.

Micah’s View & Jacob’s Run: Donations to this EZ project will fund new workforce housing construction costs on two infill properties that Pikes Peak Habitat purchased in Fountain. These two properties are Micha’s View and Jacob’s Run. Micah’s View was named in memory of Micah Tice, a U.S. Air Force Academy Preparatory School Cadet Candidate and Pikes Peak Habitat construction site volunteer. Jacob’s Run was named in memory of Jacob Busch, who served on Pikes Peak Habitat’s Finance Committee. Pikes Peak Habitat will build six new houses in these developments over the next ten years, with particular focus on partnering with teachers in the Fountain area to help them become homeowners affordably.

Thank you for considering how you can support affordable homeownership in El Paso County!
