The George Hammond Award was created by the Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors in April 2018 to honor the legacy, extraordinary services, and outstanding contributions of longtime volunteer George Hammond. Recipients are celebrated with the George Hammond Build, built in their name, creating a lasting legacy that provides shelter for families in need.
It is envisioned that this award will not be presented annually, but rather bestowed when a volunteer is identified for their significant contributions to the mission of Pikes Peak Habitat, and for exemplifying leadership and passionate service to El Paso County communities, as embodied by George Hammond himself.
In order to submit a nomination, please pick up a nomination form at one of our ReStores, the construction site, or our business office. Please review the requirements and the process on the form before submitting. If a winner is selected, it will be announced at the annual Volunteer Appreciation Event.
