Volunteers from The Home Depot Foundation got busy this week and built a new playground for Abrams Elementary on Fort Carson with KaBOOM!, a nonprofit that provides playgrounds to schools nationwide. Not only did they build a playground created with input from students and designed to meet handicapped-accessible standards under the Americans with Disabilities Act, but volunteers also created an outdoor classroom, added outdoor seating, and stuffed 500 backpacks with school supplies for students. Here at Pikes Peak Habitat we build homes, community and hope, and we are thrilled and proud to see our partner Home Depot making a wonderful difference in our community!
