1st George Hammond Build honoring George Hammond
Danyale needed a hand up, not a handout and Habitat invests not only in our community but in our own staff. Already a part of the Habitat family, Danyale works as a dispatcher, scheduling a free pickup for local area donations to the Pikes Peak Habitat ReStore. “I feel so blessed to not only be a recipient but also to be a part of a company who constantly wants to help others.”
Needing to forge her own way, Danyale moved her children and herself out of her parent’s house when she saved enough with her job. Danyale has raised her children in a 3-bedroom townhome for 8 years, during which time, she had to depend on unreliable maintenance service.
As a future Habitat homeowner, Danyale will be putting behind her problems of flooding kitchens, broken heating elements, rodents, and leaking windows. “I won’t have to depend on anyone else to come and fix things when they can because I will be able to do it myself.” She will be able to apply the skills she has learned on the construction site and in her homebuyer education classes to perform her own home maintenance. Danyale’s family is looking forward to having more indoor living space and outdoor playing room. They can’t wait for a home to call their own in a neighborhood that is safe and welcoming.
Congratulations on the groundbreaking!
