This is Part 7 of a 7-part series featuring Pikes Peak Habitat Interfaith Build for Unity subcommittee members, who discuss their faith community’s involvement in creating an interfaith unity bench for 3rd IBU homeowner Jessica.
Chaplain Tamer SayedAhmed shares about the contribution from the United States Air Force Academy Muslim cadets.
The USAFA Muslim cadets were honored to participate in the bench project along with other faith groups. We wanted to make a difference, promote hope and dignity, and demonstrate our love for God and humanity. In addition, we decided to participate to show our love and care for others and help Jessica have a decent place to live.
On the front long bench, we wrote four small chapters of the Quran (chapters 109, 112, 113 and 114). We believe the last three chapters of the Quran (112, 113 and 114) help seek God’s protection against envy and evils. As a result, we wrote those chapters of the Quran to ask God to protect Jessica’s new home. Also, we drew the two biggest holy mosques in Islam (Masjid Al-Harram in Makkah (on the right) and Masjid Al-Nabawi in Medina (on the left).
We would like to congratulate Jessica for her new home and for her perseverance and patience to achieve her dream of owning a home! We were blessed to share our Islamic holy prayers to bless Jessica’s new home. May Allah bless Jessica and her new home!
