Pikes Peak Habitat is working with students from Harrison School District 2 on our construction site as part of their Career Readiness Academy. Atlas Prep Charter School is building sheds for our homeowners, too. These ventures allow at-risk students age 16 and older an opportunity to learn from our construction staff and experience hands-on job training in the field of construction, reducing the rate of drop-outs.
This is an exciting chance for PPHFH to initiate a collaborative youth build pilot program. The Youth Training Program provides an avenue to teach the next generation of builders. As a result, the students gain the necessary skills to step up as a work-ready workforce.
As of February 2017, over $33,000 has been raised for this house, but we need $75,000 to start it. You can help our future leaders in construction and donate now!
