Building the Beloved Community
Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity's 2023 Initiative
Our 2023 Building the Beloved Community initiative celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day and focused on racial barriers to homeownership, culminating in an interfaith dialogue in observance of the 2023 UN World Interfaith Harmony Week.
Opportunities to participate included
- Signing the pledge to help us build the beloved community
- Attending an interfaith dialogue consisting of a panel discussion and shared meal on Feb. 5
- Completing the Building Blocks for the Beloved Community
- Reading and reflecting on Richard Rothstein's book The Color of Law
- Participating in a 7-day interfaith challenge to celebrate UN World Interfaith Harmony Week Feb. 1-7
