Every Day Is Earth Day

Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity is committed to environmentally responsible practices, not just on Earth Day but every day. We build energy-efficient homes with drought-resistant landscaping, recycle materials wherever possible, and reuse household goods and construction materials through our ReStores. At Pikes Peak Habitat, every day is Earth Day!

We're extremely grateful to Keysight Technologies, Earth Day 2024 Donation Drive Title Sponsor! Their generous sponsorship directly supports our programs' housing solutions and environmental conservation practices.

"Keysight Technologies is pleased to partner for the third year with Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity on the Earth Day 2024 Donation Drive.  As the corporate sponsor, our company and our people reaffirm our commitment to assist in providing affordable housing in the Pikes Peak region and to do our part as good corporate citizens to invest in our planet."

Conservation on Our Construction Site

Pikes Peak Habitat is committed to building sustainably! We are constantly finding ways to make our homes more energy-efficient -- and more affordable for our homeowners by installing systems that lower their utility bills as well as conserving resources.

Energy Efficiency

From mini-split heating and cooling systems to insulation, we build tight, energy-efficient homes -- and carefully steward the land we use.

Drought-Resistant Landscaping

Our landscapes feature rocks and gravel, and we've also worked with Colorado Springs Utilities to select low-water trees and shrubs.

Reuse, Repurpose, and Recycle with the ReStores

The ReStores are earth-friendly all year. In fiscal year 2023 (July 1, 2022-June 30, 2023), the ReStores diverted 2,579 tons of usable and repurposable items from landfills!

Donations

Our ReStores give new life to new and gently used donations of furniture, household items, tools, construction supplies, and more!

Recycling

The ReStores serve as drop-off centers for materials such as metal, paint, porcelain, and textiles that are then recycled into road base, insulation, and more!
