Help Us Bring Critical Home Repairs to El Paso County Families

Rose, a certified nursing assistant (CNA), received critical repairs through Pikes Peak Habitat’s home repair program. Because of the work done by our crew, Rose and her teenage daughter, Adrianna, can remain securely in the home where Rose grew up.

"Sometimes, especially for my mom, it was hard for her to ask for help, but it's a great program, and it's really helped us a lot with things we could have never done ourselves," says Rose. "I'm really thankful to have been a part of this entire journey."

Contributions to our home repair program help support health, safety, and accessibility for local homeowners like Rose.

La Rosa Hosts Final Tequila and Tapas

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Tequila and Tapas at La Rosa Southwestern Dining! We had a full house with delicious food and drinks. We're also grateful to La Rosa for partnering with us for this event over the last three years. La Rosa will be closing their doors at the end of August, so please support this wonderful, family-owned restaurant in Palmer Lake one last time!

What's New at the Construction Site?

There's always something going on at our construction site at The Ridge at Sand Creek! Just last week, the crane came out to lift trusses onto our two-story Apostles Build home, where Ricardo and Mariela will live with their four sons. It's exciting to see the home take shape! Once they move in, Mariela looks forward to family game and movie nights, while Ricardo anticipates all six of them being able to sit together for a meal. Their home dedication is scheduled December 9, and we hope you'll join us to celebrate with this family!

We also now have a live and historical weather feed! With the unpredictable weather we've been having in El Paso County this summer and with conditions varying dramatically even within a few miles, it only made sense to add the feed so volunteers can view conditions at the site. The feed is attached to our construction trailer, so it will move to the next build site with us when we're ready.

Vote for Interfaith America Film in SXSW

In February, representatives from Interfaith America came to El Paso County to profile Pikes Peak Habitat's interfaith initiatives and Faith in Action Program Manager Chloe Henry. They are producing a short film that will stand on its own and also will be part of a documentary featuring three other interfaith leaders.

Interfaith America is hoping to present the films and a panel at South by Southwest (SXSW). You can help us promote our interfaith work and Chloe's own faith journey by voting for the panel, "Can Film Be a Force for Change in Polarizing Times?"

Voting takes place until Aug. 20. Create an account online, search for the panel, and click the up arrow for "Yes."

We're also excited to share the film with you as soon as it's ready!
